The 88th Texas Legislature: An Insider’s Perspective Featuring State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer

National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is pleased to host State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer at its Opening Meeting on Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. He will present an Insider’s Perspective to the 88th Session of the Texas Legislature, highlighting the challenges and successes on bills dealing with a number of contentious issues. A Question & Answer session will follow his remarks.

Martinez Fischer, Representative of the 116th District, is Dean of the Bexar County Delegation and Chair of the Texas House Democratic Caucus. He is currently serving his 11th legislative session, fighting for the people of San Antonio in the Texas House. He currently serves as a senior member of the budget-writing House Appropriations Committee and a member of the Juvenile Justice & Family Issues Committee.

Though often outnumbered by his opponents, Rep. Martinez Fischer has repeatedly delivered legislative victories for the people of San Antonio, defeating harmful legislation and working to pass job-creating, bipartisan legislation of his own.

This event is open to the community and members are encouraged to bring spouses, partners, family and friends. Please RSVP to Lori by Sunday, Sept. 4.

Light refreshments will be served.

Attendees are asked to bring a donation of period pads or baby wipes to support the Center for Refugee Services, an agency that provides vital assistance to the families of Afghan refugees who supported our military.
